We’re Ivan and Anica, the farmers
behind SoCliff Farm.

SoCliff Farm logo

Building an urban farm has been a decades-long vision of Ivan’s; the farm name blends his parents’ surnames.

We’re incredibly proud of our farm and we think the logo we created shares a lot about who we are and our goals for SoCliff. The sprout showcases growth — not just in our plants, but in the hope we have for the world and ourselves. The red sunflower petals (which double as sun rays) were inspired by Indigenous symbolism and artwork; they serve as an homage to those who first cared for the land we now farm and remind us of how our backgrounds continue to influence us today. Together, these pieces encourage us to find beauty in all of the work we do and the connections we are forming.

Because we grow our veggies with care and intention, we use organic and regenerative practices — and we never use pesticides. We want to build and promote our soil health so we try to be as low-till as possible; low-till farming decreases the amount of erosion and increases the water-holding capacity of the soil.

Our flock of chickens always keeps us laughing and we’re excited to have four beehives on the farm (they’re the hardest workers out of all of us).

We are honored to have been awarded the 2023 Farmer Development and Support Award from GoFarm.
